Prices for Land Rover Discovery rival revealed * Face-lifted model gets revised suspension * Available to order now; in dealers on 1 December
When it hits dealerships on December 1st, the updated Toyota Land Cruiser will start at a starting price of £34,995.
There is only one engine option for the Land Cruiser, and it’s a 3.0-liter diesel that makes 188 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The three-door model with the six-speed manual transmission is the base model. The standard number of doors and gear ratios on all other variants is five.
The base Active trim level of the five-door costs £38,750 and features 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a rearview camera, and a touchscreen information and entertainment system. For an additional £395, you may have this model built as a seven-seater.
Larger wheels, leather seats, rear air conditioning, satellite radio, and a 14-speaker sound system are included in the £47,495 Icon specification. The upgraded Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System is included as well.
The most powerful Invincible model costs £52,495. It has adaptive suspension and high-tech computer controls for off-roading and towing, as well as leather and wood accents, a DVD player, and heated seats in the second row.
The Icon and Invincible grades automatically include seven seats. The enhanced off-road controls are an optional extra on the Icon that costs £1650. A safety package with adaptive cruise control and emergency braking is available for all Land Cruisers for an additional £1360.
The redesigned front end of the outgoing car is the most noticeable alteration, with a deeper bumper and a more chunkier grille than the previous one. The new colour screen is located between the main binnacles, and there is new aluminium trim surrounding the air-conditioning dials and gauges.
The second row of seats now folds further forward, providing simpler access to the third row, which should make boarding the aircraft much less of a hassle for passengers.
Beginning on December 1, customers can test drive or place an order for a 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser.
