One of the simplest methods to make money while you sleep is to sell e-books, and there’s no one better to learn from than Daryl Grant. In my capacity as the host and creator of Wonderful Web Women, I had the pleasure of conducting an interview with Daryl. Daryl has been really open with us about the process she uses to make money by writing and selling e-Books online.
Making a beater perform like a sports car is impossible.
Daryl told us during the interview, “You can’t make a jalopy into a sports vehicle, you have to have the sports car first.” What on earth does she mean, and how does this relate to making and selling ebooks? Daryl said that many individuals come up to her asking for assistance with marketing their self-published books online. It gives her the willies because doing market research to determine whether or not there is a need for the book and whether or not it will sell is more important than creating the book itself.
There are six surefire ways to determine if your e-book will be a commercial success before you ever start writing it.
Daryl and her husband Andrew Grant have developed a 6-step checklist procedure that they freely offer with anyone who is interested in learning how to identify whether or not an e-book on a given topic will sell in sufficient quantities to be financially worthwhile. It’s the backbone of Daryl’s thriving e-book business, which brings in money whether she and her husband are out playing with the kids, lounging in their high-rise apartment on the Gold Coast of Australia, or getting some shut-eye.
Finding out your expected earnings is the first step to planning your budget
Daryl’s “survey site” can be carried out once a topic has been found that satisfies the 6 step checklist. You can simulate the anticipated sales conversion rate once your book is live by using this survey site in conjunction with Google Adwords.
The great thing is that for only about $100, you can find out how many people are interested in your issue based on the amount of responses to a form and how many people are clicking on your Google Ads. As a result of the responses, you will not only know how successful your sales pitch should be, but also what topics will be most appealing to your target audience for your e-book. Doesn’t that eliminate a lot of the stress associated with coming up with content?
Here are seven ways you can create an ebook without really writing anything.
Daryl informs us that with this knowledge at hand, we can choose from a number of different services to help us develop our e-book. There’s always the option to sit down and write it yourself, but if you’re anything like the majority of people, it probably sounds like a mission impossible! Daryl suggests either hiring a ghostwriter or posting the job on the website rentacoder, where authors can “bid” on the assignment. Daryl utilises roughly seven distinct methods to have her e-books created, but only one of them requires her to do any actual writing at all!
Ultimate say
It’s time to start making money once you’ve finished writing your book. Daryl utilises the payment processing service Clickbank to sell her books via straightforward, single-page websites featuring a sales letter. Finally, she implements Google AdWords to generate passive income with minimal effort.
Daryl told the Wonderful Web Women group how she and her husband Andrew used this method to make over $250,000 in their first year of online business. Furthermore, she is still unable to create a website, which is unnecessary.
Of course, this is just a taste of what Daryl taught us, but perhaps this overview has given you enough to get going. I therefore issue a challenge to you. Create a list of concepts you believe will make excellent e-books, and check the market to determine whether people are looking for this knowledge and if there is much competition. Could be the beginning of a best seller!
