After two nights of protests over the government imposing a pensions reform without a vote in the lower house, French police banned protests on a Paris square opposite parliament on Saturday.

To prevent “serious risks of disturbances to public order,” the police in the capital city have banned any public gatherings on the public thoroughfare in the Place de la Concorde and its surroundings, as well as in the area of the Champs Elysees.
