JEDDAH: An Iranian plane landed at King Abdullah Air Base on Saturday to bring 65 Saudi evacuees back to Iran.

The rescued individuals, which included Iranians and others of various nationalities, arrived in Jeddah on Saturday morning aboard a Saudi ship from Sudan.

After successfully disembarking at the Saudi port, the jet will convey the evacuees to Iran.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia declared the largest evacuation from Sudan since its inception, when a ship carrying 20 Saudi citizens and 1,866 nationals from other countries arrived in Jeddah.

The fresh arrivals boosted the total number of evacuees since the commencement of the Kingdom’s mission to 4,879 persons, including 139 Saudi citizens and 4,738 foreign nationalities.
