Territories of Palestine: Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian adolescent early Saturday in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

“During the Israeli occupation’s onslaught on Jenin, a 17-year-old kid was killed and an 18-year-old was gravely wounded by Israeli occupation gunfire,” the health ministry stated in a statement.

The Jenin refugee camp has become a flashpoint in recent tensions following a string of attacks in Israel that claimed the lives of 19 people.

Last week, thirteen Palestinians were injured during an Israeli raid in the camp, during which one Israeli commando and one Palestinian were murdered.

The Israeli commando was called Noam Raz by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

Daoud Al-Zubaidi, a brother of Zakaria Al-Zubaidi, who headed the armed branch of Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas’ Fatah movement and briefly escaped from Israeli prison last year, was identified as the Palestinian.

The strikes occurred just hours before Shireen Abu Akleh, an Al Jazeera journalist who was killed last week while filming another Israeli attack on the camp, was laid to rest.

As her funeral was taking place, Israeli police invaded the grounds of a Jerusalem hospital where the slain journalist’s body was being carried for burial, causing international outrage.
