Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is searching for a candidate to be the new prime minister of Somalia, following the overthrow of Hassan Ali Kheyre’s government.
Many politicians are vying for the post of Prime Minister of Somalia in the next few months, and the Somali Presidency is busy selecting a new Prime Minister.
Politicians from the Abgaal and Habar Gudir clans are vying for the post of Prime Minister of Somalia, and clan politicians are each campaigning for the post of Prime Minister for several months.
The Somali president met in various ways with politicians and intellectuals from the Abgaal and Habar Gidir clans to discuss the appointment of a new prime minister and how each party wants the seat.
According to the sources, the president made promises to the two communities and reassured them that he would come from their side and agree on the right person.
President Farmajo may step down from both the Abgaal and Habar Gidir sub-clans and appoint another politician from the other Hawiye sub-clan to the post of Prime Minister for several months.
Farmajo is said to have little confidence in politicians from the Habar Gidir and Abgaal clans who he believes belong to the clan, and may prefer another politician from the Hawiye clan.
President Farmajo also wants to find a politician who does not trust the clan and can work on the extension plan sought by the Somali presidency and the federal parliament.
President Farmajo will be the next Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia in the next few months.
