Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug state, the leaders of the federal government of Somalia and the regional administrations of the country will meet again to discuss the type of elections that will take place in the country.
Prior to the Dhusamareb conference, commissions appointed by the federal government and regional administrations were scheduled to hold meetings to investigate the upcoming elections in the country, but no commissions have yet met.
The president of Galmudug state Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoor Qoor who spoke at a ceremony held in Turkey last night said that the Dhusamareb 3 conference will take place as scheduled.
He said a committee tasked with organizing the conference would continue to work, and he hoped the conference would be held on time and with tangible results.
Qoor Qoor warned against the failure of the Dhusamareb 3 conference, pointing out that previous conferences had cost a lot of effort, time and money, and expressed hope that the Heads of the Federal Government and the administrations would meet again.
“The conference will take place on time. So far we do not have anything that could cause it to be delayed. I commend the role of the people of Galmudug, especially the people of Dhusamareb who hosted the leaders and their entourage,” said President Qoor-Qoor
The second Dhusamareb conference was overthrown by the Somali government, raising suspicions that the Somali presidency wants to thwart the Dhusamareb conference and previous agreements.
