According to the Saudi Press Agency, Adel Al-Jubeir was named as ambassador for climate issues as part of a slew of royal decrees announced on Sunday.
Al-position Jubeir’s as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and member of the Council of Ministers will remain unchanged.
Abdulrahman bin Ahmed bin Hamdan Al-Harbi has been appointed as the Kingdom’s ambassador to China, while his previous job as governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade has been abolished.
Deputy Minister of Justice Dr. Najem bin Abdulla Al-Zaid has been appointed.

Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami has been named director of the General Directorate of Public Security and raised to the rank of Lieutenant-General.
Lieutenant-General Nayef bin Majid bin Saud has been promoted to Maj. Gen. Nayef bin Majid bin Saud.
The Director of the General Directorate of Investigation, Ahmed bin Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Issa, has been appointed.
The Royal Court has chosen Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Kanhal as an advisor.
Hamood bin Badah Al-Muraikhi has been appointed as a Royal Court advisor.
Tariq bin Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faris has been appointed as an advisor to the Council of Ministers Secretariat.
Badr bin Abdul Mohsen bin Abdullah bin Hadab has been appointed as an assistant to the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, while his previous job as an assistant to the Saudi trade minister has been eliminated.
The chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu is Khalid bin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Salem.
Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah steps down as head of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority’s board of directors, and is succeeded by Fahad Al-Jalajel.
