ABU DHABI: The UAE has dispatched three planes delivering more than 115 tonnes of medical and food items to Sudan, according to Emirates News Agency.
Two planes arrived at Port Sudan International Airport with 100 tons of medical supplies, including drugs, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, dressings, surgical tape, and endoscopic kits.
The third plane arrived in Chad with 15 tonnes of food for Sudanese migrants.
The deployment of relief supplies came at the direction of the UAE’s leadership, according to Sultan Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and underlines the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Sudanese people.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has contributed over 240 tonnes of medical and food supplies, as well as assistance.
