The Danab National Army Commandos ousted al-Shabaab yesterday from Janay-Abdale, about 60 km from Kismayo, and are conducting security operations in the area.

“The seizure and destruction of the vehicles was facilitated by the co-operation of the Somali National Army and the residents who have been relieved of the burden of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group,” said a Danab military official who spoke to the media.
Al-Shabaab militants have claimed responsibility for a series of bombings in the capital, Mogadishu, last month that killed at least 40 people. .
