Canada needs skilled workers in many different trades, so it made the Express Entry Program to get as many qualified people as possible to move there. This article will explain what this programme is and how to apply for it.

What is the programme called “Express Entry” for Canada?
All of the steps for the Express Entry Program are done on the Government of Canada website. It lets people use a government-made calculator to figure out how many points they should get based on their skills, education, and work history. Applicants are ranked by different things and given points based on the kinds of traits they have. Then, the people whose profiles get the most points are asked to fill out an application for permanent residence in Canada.

If the applicant is given permanent residence, they can move to Canada and have all the rights of a legal resident, including the right to apply for Canadian citizenship when they are old enough.

So, the Canada Express Entry Program makes it possible for skilled workers to move to Canada and find work there while also working towards becoming citizens.

What are the different kinds of Express Entry Programs for immigration to Canada?
Since there are different kinds of skilled workers, the Canadian government made the Express Entry into four different programmes. These programmes are also called “economic immigration programmes” because they bring in skilled workers who help Canada’s economy grow and get better. Here’s what these programmes are:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
The requirements to get into each programme are different. Language skills, a qualified job, and work experience are the main things that set them apart.

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is for skilled workers with work experience outside of Canada who want to move to Canada. It requires a high level of English or French language skills (Level 7) and a job in management, a professional job that requires a college degree, or a technical job or trade that requires a college diploma or an apprenticeship. Lastly, you need to have worked in the same job for a year straight sometime in the last 10 years.

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is for people who have worked in a foreign country and are skilled in certain trades. It requires a level 5 or 4 of English or French language skills, and it is a technical job that requires a college degree or an apprenticeship, as well as 2 years of work experience in the last 5 years. Those who want to apply must also have a job offer from a Canadian company and a certificate that shows they are highly skilled in their trade.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is for skilled people who have worked in Canada before. They must be able to speak English or French at a Level 5 or 7 and have a job in management, a professional field, or a technical field. They must also have worked in Canada for a year in the last three years.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a programme that allows Canadian provinces to nominate and choose skilled workers who meet their needs. After being invited to apply, the person must live and work in the province that nominated and sponsored them. The programme is run by the provinces, and the Express Entry portal is only used to accept online profiles.

What does the Canada Express Entry Program ask of people?
If you want to move to Canada through the Express Entry Program, you must meet the requirements to be eligible. The first three programmes each have their own set of requirements. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), on the other hand, has a few extra requirements that are different for each province.

You can go to the Government of Canada’s website to find out if you are eligible or not. You should click the “Check your eligibility” button, which will take you to a short questionnaire. On the questionnaire, you’ll be asked about things like:

Nationality
Age
Language skills
Education
Experience at work
Members of the
Information about a job in Canada
The CRS Calculator will use each answer you give to these questions to figure out how many points you get. Different answers give you different points, and to get into each Express Entry programme, you have to reach a certain score. There are a total of 100 points, and for example, you need at least 67 points to get into the Federal Skilled Workers Program.

After you finish filling out the questionnaire, the website will give you a unique code number. After you create your account, you can use that to start your profile. To be eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), you must be eligible for Express Entry, but you must also meet other requirements. You have to choose which Canadian province you want to live in and then talk to the right people.

On the PNP eligibility site, you can find a list of all the Canadian provinces and links to how to get in touch with them. Contact the province you want to move to and ask what the requirements are. Then, decide if you meet them or not. If you are, the province must put your name forward for you to be able to apply.

How do I apply for the Express Entry Program in Canada?
Depending on which programme you want to apply for through the Express Entry Programs, the way to apply is different. The first three programmes have the same way to apply. The Provincial Nominee Program, on the other hand, has a different way to apply.

Follow these steps to apply for the Federal Skilled Workers, Federal Skilled Trades, or Canadian Experience Class programmes.

Get supporting documents
To apply for the programmes, you will need a list of things to back up your application. Among these are:

A valid passport of travel document;
English or French language test scores;
Report on the Evaluation of Education Credentials for the Federal Skilled Workers and Experience Class;
If you have one, a job offer letter from a company in Canada;
Certificates from the police that show you don’t have any crimes on your record;
Checkup with a doctor;
Proof that you have enough money to stay in Canada if you are invited to apply;
Submit your profile
The Express Entry Program works by picking people based on their profiles. So you’ll have to send in your profile and show that you meet the requirements.

You have to make an account on the Government of Canada website in order to send this profile. You will enter the code you got from your eligibility questionnaire and then answer all the questions on your profile. You will write about your age, nationality, education, and work experience, and you will send in the documents you gathered in the first step.

You have 60 days to work on the profile before you have to send it in. If you wait longer than 60 days, you won’t be able to send it in and will have to start over.

After you send in your profile, you’ll have to wait to find out if you’re chosen. Every year, the Canadian government picks from a pool of profiles the people with the highest scores and rankings based on their qualifications. This can take up to 6 months, so you can work on improving your score and updating your profile in the meantime. For example, you can retake language tests to get better scores or get a job offer in Canada if you didn’t have one before.

Get a call to apply.
If you have the most points, the Canadian government will ask you to fill out an application. Also, if you are eligible and meet the requirements, the province you sent your profile to will invite you to apply for the PNP if you are eligible and meet the requirements.

You must accept the invitation to apply if you want to be eligible for permanent residence. You can also say no if you were invited to a programme that wasn’t on your list of top choices. If you turn down the invitation, you’ll have to send in your profile and wait to be chosen all over again.

Apply to live there permanently
The Canadian government will send you the forms you need to fill out and send back in order to apply for permanent residence. If you want your application to be looked at, you will have to fill out these forms and send in any other paperwork they ask for. You also have to pay the fees, which vary depending on the programme you want to join.

You’ll have 60 days to finish the application for permanent residence, and after you send it in, you’ll only be able to make changes that are important.

The Canadian government will then take about 6 months to look over your application for permanent residence and let you know what they think. If your application is accepted, you will be able to live in Canada for good. If they say no, they will tell you why so you can fix your application and try again.
