Fu’ad Mohamed Khalaf, one of the leaders of Al-Shabaab, denied that he was killed in the fighting in Bakool region last week.
In a voice recorded from Shongole and broadcast on Al-Shabaab media, he said that he is alive and well.
Ethiopia said on Friday that it had killed three Al-Shabaab officials, including Fu’ad Shongole and the organization’s spokesman, Abdulaziz Abu Musab.
He mentioned the war that took place on July 30 in the city of Aato, and the news from Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian government has not yet commented on the news from Fu’ad Shongole, one of the leaders of Al-Shabaab, while the situation in the areas where the war was fought is calm.
