Galmudug police have arrested a young man in Adado town last night on suspicion of being involved in the brutal murder and rape of Hamdi Mohamed Ibrahim in Mogadishu.
The man who escaped from Mogadishu is suspected to be the man who conspired to take Hamdi to the hotel where he was raped and killed, and the man fled the city after a police search.
Somali Deputy Police Chief General Zakiya Hussein said Galmudug police have arrested Mohamed Ibrahim Osman, 24, on suspicion of involvement in the rape and murder case of Hamdi Mohamed.
“Galmudug police arrested Mohamed Ibrahim Osman, 24, a Mogadishu-born suspect in an operation late last night in Adado on suspicion of being involved in the case of the late Hamdi Mohamed Farah who fled Mogadishu after the incident.” said General Zakiya.
Somali police have already arrested 11 people in connection with the rape and murder of Hamdi Mohamed Ibrahim, and police are holding suspects in connection with the rape and murder.
