One of the US Navy’s commanders stated on Wednesday that the use of unmanned vessels with artificial intelligence technology is strengthening security operations in the Gulf and Middle East regions.

During a briefing attended by Arab News, Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Naval Forces Central Command, US 5th Fleet, said that the main objective of American naval operations in the region is to build partnerships with regional allies and extend the employment of modern military equipment.

“Our efforts are focused on two primary areas,” he said: “one, strengthening relationships, and two, driving innovation.”

The US Navy has increased its capabilities.
